The Visual Experience As humans we have carried the genetic and cultural heirlooms of our ancestors across the millennia, adapting our inherent and insatiable desire to create to ever-changing natural and social environments. Our unique ability to both make and interpret images helps define us as human beings. The Visual Experience examines and celebrates the history of image making--from the Paleolithic to the Post-Modern--and considers the iconographic and philosophical connections between art and other disciplines. The course is designed as both an introductory survey of Art History and as exploration into the inextricably intertwined nature of Art and Ideas. |
